I studied medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine, completing a bachelor of science degree in 2000 and qualifying in 2002. I completed my basic surgical training in North-West London and  my Neurosurgical training in North East England and South London.
I completed a post CCT fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology and I have also spent a period of time at The Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona as a Marjorie Newsome Travelling Fellow .
During my training I undertook 3 years of full time research investigating novel methods of brain tumour diagnosis using advanced magnetic resonance imaging and I was awarded my PhD in 2013.
